Human Conventions To Affect Social Preferences And Conceptions Among People

            Conventions as defined refers to anything of accepted usage, custom or rule. In formal settings, this usually comes after a thorough discussion and deliberation to where, each concerned parties are convened to attend. It embodies the general preference and likeness of a more dominant side in a group. Thus, conventions can also be presented in a lighter, less complicated way. In everyday living, observing proper etiquette in eating one’s lunch, the use of polite speaking mode, appropriate comfort room manners,  values like right conduct and many others comprise simple conventions or societal conventions also known as norms. Norms are the general and standard thought of what is right and what is deemed unlikely. It is a population’s over-all collection of common things that are seen right; that has been established  down to the race’s most ancient roots and that hath undergone cultural changes and others. It functions in the principle of which is lawful and morally-accepted. Human conventions, on the other hand, are sets of valued principles and beliefs that hath been put up to contribute to the common equivalence and guide everyone to live in a well-accepted way. Human conventions affect many in their personal preferences and beliefs.

            Human Conventions affect homosexuality. Homosexuality is a state with which a person feels a deep affection or emotional attraction (oftentimes identified as a simple admiration/crush, or to a more depthic, love) to a person of the same sex. Homosexuality involves both men and women gays (collective form). But in the Philippine context, mostly subjected to men. The occurrence of the phenomena started in line with man’s growing knowledge and awareness of the world and of  himself. It can be further noted that, a number of the world’s most renowned artists through various fields possess evidences of possible homosexuality— perhaps, the phenomena, as of those days hath not been much tackled that it remained unknown. However, as mental capabilities of men flourished with time, self- discovery and preferencial  distinctment from others aroused liberalism or open-hand identification of a person’s self against the already established form and structure of the society. Thus, channeled a way for personal decline in the social context of one’s biological gender. Today, more in-depth and evolutionary forms  of gay men distinguish them from pure men. Though, gays also differ themselves from other gays. this is because of the principles and reasons they have had themselves for being so: some become gays because of incapability to resist attractions to persons of the same sex; others, for both emotional and social identification; still a few for personal freedom and still a few others upon being influenced; whilst others, either they just feel it that way, they are merely akin to feminine matters or, they are just, still unidentified. For some, it is not actually their basic choice for themselves, but their peers identifies them to. Many other reasons for them being gays are in existence but others are of a complete ignorance of it. Hence, this lack of knowledge results to a very defaming social typecast. It is perhaps, because of the fact that indecent acts often made an easier widespread than acts of good resorts. Thus, this social typecast among gays hath becometh very slandering to the point that every now and then, they are being thought of being associated with dirty and immoral acts. It was just until these days that, the trend seems to re-invent that the people are being more self-actualized of the reality that, being gay is a form of self-expression and that, they oftenly contain within them many potentialities. It can also be seen that people nowadays are more knowledgeable enough in comparable to the past, that they can now identify the invalidity and ineptiness of the social typecast to cover the entire race for it hath been very omnifarious over time and not all of its members are supposed to be dealt that way. Thus, this simplifies how Human Conventions before, taking in the form of concurrent misidentification and misconception about homosexuality hath made it hard for them to thrive for years.

            Human Conventions also affect beauty appreciation. In ancient times, Filipinos at their respective ethnic tribes hath already established their means of becoming physically beautiful and pleasantly-looking individuals— which is, to utilize some plant leaves to make their teeth black, wearing their tribal suites and scarring their skin repeatedly for a certain tattoo-like effect, for it appears beautiful to them. Though it is not until the Spaniard settlement through the Philippine coasts and then to the mainland. Since Spaniards then, already hath their own interpretation and concept about beauty— which is having a fair (in absence of any faults or flaws) skin, wearing long, elegant court gowns for women and everything clear and white (as in teeth) to communicate delicateness, virginity and cleanliness, they tend to look at the tribesmen’s conception ugly. Thus, competition between two existing Human Conventions transpired. Though, haplessly, since the land hath befallen under the supreme power of the King of Spain for three hundred thirty-three years, Filipino’s ancient beauty concept deteriorated drasticly, and in place was the mestiza  appeal or the west-side beauty. Therefore, Filipinos hath undergone not the supposed Asian ethnicity with regards to the perception of beauty but the west-side one. Until today, where dominant members of the society were born in the age of Barbie, (exemplifying the American beauty), the competition seems to be still, westernized.

            Human Conventions hath founded a set of concepts and preferences agreed by a population for the thing that it runs peculiar to them and only for them. Still, collaboration amongst these various conventions would tend to superscript one whilst the other, either subscripted, integrated to the dominant one or, less fortunately, abolished. Thus, the social mingling of vernacular notions, taking form to their enacted set of beliefs can also, positively change the way that misbeliefs be corrected or, what’s less appreciated be incorporated to that of the widely-accepted and erudited trend. But still, whether that a certain convention is a result of various mingling or not, the point is that it must be beleveled in the same structure that men hath elevated their mental wherewithal to suit the progressing thinking power of them; or, must it just be placed aside and live the way in as free and boundless as one can utmostly be. For instance, in this modern era, it is not supposed that Human Conventions be the one to dictate the way that a person must live. It must be, moreso, in a way of self-expression and harmony.
